Officials at the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) in Clarksburg, WV, have said that the increased volume of telecommunications usage nationwide has resulted in some retailers having difficulty in obtaining NICS checks. NICS says the system is fully operational and delays retailers encounter are strictly due to the telecommunications system overload. The ATF and NICS appreciate your patience during these difficult times.
