Apple Loaf and Buttermilk Sauce by Steve Burns
Apple Loaf
3 cups flour ( sifted 3 times )
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
( this in one bowl )
1 1/4 cup Wesson Oil
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 raw apples, peeled and cut up fine
1 cup pecans
2 tsp. Vanilla
1/2 cup raisins
Mix all together with flour mixture. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Put into cold oven. Bake at 325 for 45 minutes.
( 2 5x7 loaf pans )
Buttermilk Sauce
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. corn syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla
