CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA MILITARY RANK USED DURING THE WAR BETWEEN THE STATES
Have you ever saw pictures or watched movies of the War Between the States and wonder what the
Confederate rank insignia on their uniforms meant? The Union insignia is the same as today, the
Confederate was based on European military rank that is also still in use. I picked up these charts
somewhere on the Internet, but do not recall where I copied them from. I will give credit when I
find out the original source for these charts:
